Istog is a municipality in the western part of Kosovo. It is located in the Peć region and has a population of approximately 40,000 people. The town is situated at the foot of the Prokletije Mountains and is known for its natural beauty and historic landmarks. Istog is home to several important historical monuments and cultural sites, including the Visoki Dečani Monastery, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The local economy is mainly based on agriculture and tourism. The town has a small market and several shops, cafes, and restaurants. The people of Istog are predominantly Albanian, but there is also a small minority of Serbian and Roma communities.
